Stories from Ukraine

Ongoing series documenting personal experiences of people directly affected by the war in Ukraine, gathered through interviews. More forthcoming.

The following is a story from Vira*, who came to the U.S. in 2007 as a Fulbright Scholar but whose immediate family still resides in her native Ukraine. Since Vira first shared her story, her parents have safely made it out of Chernihiv. However, fear and uncertainty remain constants both for those who have escaped and those who have chosen to stay.
